New Tram Line Pribinova - Košická

The recommended route along Pribinova Street runs along a corridor between Eurovea and the Slovak National Theatre, which has been regarded as a reduction of the quality of this public space ever since the origin of the idea. However, we cannot decide on the optimal route solely taking into account this single public space (of the theatre), as the new tram line through the New Centre is a complex project taking into account car transport, public transport, pedestrian movement and other public spaces. Any alternative other than the tram following Pribinova Street would reduce the quality of the public space and transportation on a greater scale and prolong the construction by a minimum of two years. The impacts of each year of delaying the tram would cause huge economic and social damage, as tens of thousands of passengers would lack adequate transport facilities in the area.
