Bike sharing is a service that lets you rent a bike from one of its operators. Bikes can be found at designated stations. You simply pay for the service via the relevant website or mobile app, and you're good to go.

Slovnaft BAjk

The partners behind the Slovnaft BAjk bike-sharing initiative are the city of Bratislava and Slovnaft. The yellow bicycles are part of public transport in the city and are incorporated into the integrated transport system in the Bratislava region.

The system is operated by Slovnaft, which invested 1,3 million € in launching bike sharing in Bratislava in 2018.

Slovnaft BAjk is the first mobility project launched by Slovnaft in Slovakia. Its parent company, MOL, is a partner of MOL Bubi bike sharing and the operator of MOL Limo car sharing in Budapest.

Several plans are available to users – including credit-based and discounted ones. All you need to do to rent a shared bike is to use the app and pay for one of the plans.

The city favours annual subscribers who also have an annual public transport ticket.

Docking stations

The city is actively working on selecting areas for new docking stations and expanding the system around the city. The bike-sharing system uses docking stations and covers 8 city boroughs:

  • Karlova Ves
  • Nové Mesto
  • Petržalka
  • Podunajské Biskupice
  • Rača
  • Ružinov
  • Vrakuňa
