Complaints

To make it easier for you to navigate your way through public lighting complaints, here are the different categories of complaints:

  • Lighting malfunctions Lighting defects that can be rectified as part of routine maintenance:
    • The lamp is not on
    • Several lamps are not on
    • The entire location is not lit
  • Lighting malfunctions Lighting defects that pose an immediate safety hazard:
    • Damaged pole (e.g. pole tilted following a traffic accident)
    • Damaged lamp (e.g. hanging, broken)
    • Damaged power system (e.g. cable hanging/exposed)
  • Missing lighting:
    • Absence of lighting (e.g. if there is no lighting system in the location in question, lighting needs to be completed)
  • Inadequate lighting - Too powerful lighting (e.g. if the light shines directly into the windows, a different type of lamp should be used) - Growth of greenery (e.g. if tree branches obscure the lighting, it is necessary to trim them or relocate the lighting)
