Christmas Trees Collection
The aim of the new systematic solution for the collection and removal of Christmas trees is to ensure that they are collected in an organised manner and that they do not litter public spaces and collection nests or get blown about by the wind.
- The collected Christmas trees can be recycled at a composting plant.
- Residents of flats will be able to deposit the trees at their usual mixed waste collection point.
- Residents of family houses will be able to deposit the trees in the sorted collection nests (city boroughs with bag collections in addition to glass containers).
- You can also use the OLO collection yard at any time.
- In exceptional cases, e.g. for the elderly or the infirm, a tree can be removed from the front of the family home during the collection of municipal waste.
- We have also started a new system of collection with about fifty wooden pens in Lamač and a total of thirty-nine pens in other city districts.
If you want to use the composting bin or the biodegradable waste collection bin that every household in a family home is entitled to, we recommend that you minimise the volume of the tree by shredding it or chopping it up and using the tree for composting, or that you wait for biodegradable waste collections that commence from 1 March.
