Bratislava Housing Organisation

The Bratislava Housing Organisation (BOB, n. o.) is a non-profit organisation that provides services of general benefit. It was established under Act No. 213/1997 Coll. on non-profit organisations providing services of general benefit.

Its mission is to initiate, coordinate and implement urban housing development on city land.

In 2021, the organisation altered its name as well as its statute. Among other things, this change removed the possibility of selling newly-built flats for private ownership and added a new function to the organisation. This entails a non-profit organisation arranging the rental of flats owned by individuals or legal entities.

The organisation was originally founded under the name Housing Development Company in Bratislava, n.o. in 2004, as a joint project of the Bratislava and ČSOB, a.s. Its aim was the construction of commercial flats for ownership, as well as the construction of rental flats on the city's land.

In the past, the organisation completed two residential buildings (a residential building on Humenského Square in Petržalka and a residential building on Osuského Street in Petržalka); two others were developed to the stage of project preparation before the organisation's activities were curtailed.
