League for Mental Health – free helpline in Ukrainian

Sme spolu

Civic association of Ukrainians living in Slovakia - a hotline to help the refugees and coordinate volunteer efforts +421 911 201 889. They also organise emergency collection for the victims of war in Ukraine. In cooperation with the city district of Bratislava – Nové Mesto, the organisation opened the Ukrainian and Slovak Community Home at the address of: Ovručská 1663/5, 831 02 Bratislava.

Tenenet

The mission of the civic association is to provide social help and humanitarian care focusing on social counselling – both basic and specialised. They provide in-house help, as well as help in the field.

They provide:

  • social counselling (help with accommodation, provision of humanitarian and material help, basic healthcare, counselling in feeding babies and small children);
  • psychological counselling (psycho-social help, crisis intervention for individuals and groups, counselling for children, and psychological and education counselling for children); and
  • repeated support and adaptation programmes for mothers with children

Mareena

Mareena is a civic association which has been dealing with the integration of refugees and other foreigners into the Slovak society since 2017. Its vision is Slovakia as a safe and respectful home for all, irrespective of their nationality, ethnicity, or religion.

They assist people with international protection thanks to a volunteering programme; they organise language courses and other education activities for foreigners and Slovaks, and create a friendly environment for foreigners and locals to meet and get to know each other better.

Human Rights League

The Human Rights League is a Slovak NGO, providing free legal aid and information to foreigners and refugees in Slovakia since 2005.

Freedom of Animals

The veterinary office in the Freedom of Animals shelter in Bratislava provides free treatment for animals with owners coming from Ukraine on working days from 12 pm to 4 pm: they chip the animals, issue pet passports, administer vaccines, and treat the animals where necessary.

In addition, the organisation organises a material collection in the Bratislava shelter. All the material is to be delivered to the Vyšné Nemecké border crossing via the Na konci sveta civic association.

They need: smaller packages of dog and cat food, transportation bags for animals, bowls, cans, snacks for cats and dogs.

Mládež Ulice

They focus on field social work with children and youth, work in families, and community work., development of the skills and potential of young people and guide them in dealing with difficult life choices. They provide counselling to families (and parents) on what the adults call “educational issues” and look for ways for them to get back on track.

The Mládež Ulice organisation provides field social work and is able to provide social counselling to the families. In addition, it operates a club for children and young people where you can play pool, table football, PlayStation, table tennis, or board games.

Ráčik Family Centre

A playroom for Ukrainian mothers with children - every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Interesting programme for children every day!

Family Centre

The Family Centre is a non-profit organisation providing space for everyone who is concerned for society, the people in it and the environment we live in. The centre activities include various generations and people who want to improve the society, give a second chance to unsold foodstuffs and clothes, as well as marginalised people.

Ukraine Community Centre in Bratislava

They believe that helping each other and showing solidarity are necessary for the proper function of society and natural for people. Such reciprocity is even more important in times like these.

They decided to help their fellow Ukrainians to overcome these difficult times and improve their mental, spiritual and physical condition. They meet twice a week in the John Paulus II Pastoral Centre in Petržalka. People from Ukraine will be able to get useful information on getting to know their new city there.

Daisy Centre for Mothers

In the Salesian family, the daisy is a symbol of the mother of Don Bosco - mother Margherita. The leaves represent various activities provided by the centre and are connected to one central piece, which is the Salesian community.

The mission of the Daisy centre for mothers is to support motherhood and the family and to make the time of mothers on maternity leave more pleasant to them and to mitigate social isolation, as well as to create a space for safe and creative play of children, getting to know the world around us and the first social relationships. They also want to work on the community for all generations actively and develop the spiritual and cultural values of the members.
