Asphalt Handbook

In order to improve the quality of reconstruction in public spaces, we have standardised the process of large-scale and smaller local repairs of roads and pavements. We are happy to present to you the Bratislava Technical Sheets (TLMB), aka the "Asphalt Handbook".

Benefits of the Asphalt Handbook (TLMB)

  • Standardised detailed solutions and processes aimed at ensuring high quality road and pavement repairs in our city
  • Harmonisation of project planning and implementation related to municipal roads, but implemented by third parties, developers and others
  • To be used for the design, implementation and inspection of the construction before the road or pavement is handed over to the city or city districts. The city districts have also commented on the document and will be making use of it
  • Attention to detail and reliable fitting of minor elements, such as kerbs and paving, which have a major impact on long-term durability (so that future repairs do not require changes to the edges of the road surface and so that only the pavement layers can be conveniently replaced)
  • Ensuring that accessible adaptations and solutions are truly accessible: to be designed as slopes that are not marginal, and to have a near-zero height difference at the kerb edge; to impart a new quality to all those for whom these adaptations are intended

This is an open document that will be supplemented and modified, as necessary, based on the experience gained in both renovation and new construction, as well as in the supply of new materials and technological processes.
