Low-threshold Social Service for Children and Youth
What is a low-threshold service?
It is easily accessible and available in the environment of young people and families. It provides an open and safe environment and does not put children, young people and families under too much pressure – from the financial, psychological, time-related, physical or technical perspectives. The objective is to establish a suitable environment for making contact with individuals and groups avoiding or not actively seeking standard help from institutions, and to work with them.
The FORTUNÁČIK low-threshold social service for children and families provides counselling, prevention, education, and free-time activities for children, young people and families.
FORTUNÁČIK establishes support space improving the quality of life, establishing healthy relationships, developing social and life skills, and promoting creativity and imagination.
Who provides the service?
FORTUNÁČIK is part of the social help office of the Fortuna dormitory and, in cooperation with the office, it provides low-threshold social services, individual help, support, and basic and specialised counselling to individuals and families living at the dormitory.
Who is the service intended for?
The service is intended for children and young people up to the age of 18 and their families. The children, young people and families need help and support in:
- overcoming a difficult situation in life;
- performing their rights and interests;
- reducing discrimination and social exclusion;
- establishing conditions for reasonable use of free time; and
- preventing, eliminating, and limiting social and pathological phenomena by or towards a group.
What do I need to use the service? What are the obstacles and how much does the service cost?
FORTUNÁČIK is a low-threshold facility. That means that it is fully accessible. There are no registration requirements, no fees or limitations based on race, gender, nationality, or religion.
Children, young people and families can use the service on: Monday - Thursday: 9:00 - 17:00 Friday: 9:00 - 14:00
The low-threshold group clubs are open on: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 14:00-17:00
