Popular summer seasonal lines will take passengers to the countryside again this year

15.3.2023

As spring days are about to arrive from 25 March, we are re-launching the #sMHDpozelenej campaign, which will augment the traffic on the popular routes 43, 52, 144. Also, after its winter break, route 154 to the Horárne Krasňany area, which is widely used by passengers, will return. From this day on, the #sMHDpozelenej campaign will be relaunched. The Bratislava Transport Company (DPB) will begin with modification of services in several locations.

As an environmentally friendly and sustainable mode of transport, public transport routes 43, 52, 144 and 154 annually carry more than 200,000 passengers. The augmented summer mode of these services during weekends and holidays is a response to strong demand from passengers for connections to well-known tourist locations.

Passengers will again be able to comfortably reach the well-known Kačínská dolina, which will be served by line 43, with alternating final stops Lesopark and Kačín. After the winter break, line 154 will resume running on the Pekná cesta - Horáreň Krasňany route and line 52 will connect Rača with the forests above Potočná. The DPB is adding evening connections and extending traffic until 7:15 p.m. on line 144 running to Kamzík. It will also improve its connection to trolleybus line 44, running from the city centre.

“Spring weather and a trip to the countryside make an ideal combination that attracts a large number of people from Bratislava every year. I am very glad that, thanks to the augmenting of public transport routes running to tourist locations, we can offer visitors to Lesopark a comfortable, fast and environmentally friendly alternative to driving a car. Hiking enthusiasts will no longer have to search for a parking space. Thanks to the service to various locations connected by interesting hiking trails, they will be free to explore the countryside around Bratislava from A zo Z without being obliged to return to their starting point,” says Martin Rybanský, DPB's Chair of the Board.

The DPB will also modify the timetables of routes 45, 67 and 79. In order to improve access to the National Cancer Institute, we are introducing new services on route 45 at 7am and 7pm. After evaluating previous changes, we are also changing the scope of service on route 79, which will operate not just at weekday peak times, but all day, except for weekends. After evaluating the suggestions from residents, as well as due to the low load factor, route 67 will operate between the Vinohradnícka and Ovčiarska stops only during weekday peak hours. The traffic volume in the section Astronomická - Vinohradnícka remains unchanged.

As the summer mode approaches, so does the annual time change. On 26 March (Sunday), twenty night lines will be in service, departing before 2:00 a.m. winter time. Departures after 2:00 a.m. will be made in summertime, with the time being changed automatically in the vehicles.
