Sub-programme 2 grant for the Promotion of Sporting and Educational Events

Aims of the Sub-programme 2 grant:

  • support of one-off sporting and educational events that are on national, international or global level
  • development of recreational, performance and top-level sport in the city
  • promoting sport through the involvement of the residents
  • development of non-formal education for young people and workers with young people
  • developing organisation of competitions in various areas of interest

Amount of the subsidy

The minimum subsidy amount per approved project: 3,320€

  • the maximum amount of the subsidy for an event of national importance classified in the NATIONAL category is 5,000€
  • the maximum amount of the subsidy for an event of international importance classified in INTERNATIONAL category is 10,000€
  • the subsidy over 10,000€ might be granted for projects classified in the TOP category (for more details see Status of Sub-programme 2 grant ↗︎)
  • the maximum amount of the subsidy to one applicant for all approved projects classified in the categories NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL, including approved projects under Sub-programme 1, is 10,000€ per calendar year

Eligible applicants

  • Legal entities not founded by the city
  • Individuals – entrepreneurs who have their registered office or permanent residence within the territory of the city, or who are active, carry out activities in the territory of the city, or provide services to the residents of the city

Eligible supported activities

  • sporting activities and events organised mainly within the Bratislava territory
  • educational activities and events organised mainly within the territory of Bratislava

Project evaluation criteria

  • the conformity of the project with the purpose of the programme grant
  • budget
  • number of participants
  • project's contribution

Each criterion can attract score of 25 points. The maximum number of score points is 100. In order for the project to be successful, a project needs to achieve at least 70% of the total score.

Applications assessment

Applications are assessed by the Committee of the City Council for Learning, Education and Sport, based on accepted project evaluation criteria. After discussing the applications, the Committee submits a proposal for the grant amount and the purpose of this subsidy to the City Council. The City Council then decides on awarding the grant.

Subsidy spending

The subsidy beneficiary is obliged to use the granted subsidy effectively, for the approved purpose and within the budget period. The beneficiary is obliged to spend the funds at the latest by 31.12. of the relevant calendar year.
